Welcome to the Chess Problem Database Server!

The helpmate section of the PDB Server has been compiled with the help of the John Niemann collection and the benevolent work of a lot of contributors. The retro section of the PDB Server owes a lot to the Retro Corner web site, started by Philippe Schnoebelen and continued by Joost de Heer. The Retro Corner has been moved to Retro Corner and is currently maintained by Otto Janko.

Please support the PDB project and help to make the database more valuable by contributing your own collection of chess problems! If you have compiled your own electronic archive of chess problems, I would be glad to integrate your collection into the PDB. Of course your contribution will be honoured in the list of contributors! All types of problems (direct mates, selfmates, studies, fairies, ...) and all file formats are welcome.

This chess problem database has been developed and is maintained through volunteer work of a lot of benevolent contributors, who spent their time and energy in the interest of the chess problem community. Any utilization for commercial purposes is strictly forbidden!
